Hot Water Heater Blankets: Getting More Bang for Your Buck

by Eye for Design

Beware; your hot water heater is using up much more energy than you are aware of. It is also running up your utility bills substantially. So what do you do in such a case? Well, why not install a hot water heater blanket to combat the problem? Don’t allow your hot water heater to waste precious energy, spend some money on the hot water heater blanket (which, by the way, is totally affordable!) and watch your carbon footprint reducing to a large extent! You will also be able to save a lot of money.

In winter, your electricity bills might go up to at least 200 dollars, and most of that is towards the heating of water. But just imagine that the hot water heater blanketcould save you at least 20-25 dollars a month! That really is a substantial part of the cost. Couple that with the fact that a blanket costs approximately 20-25 dollars or so, and you see that it would be a really good investment, which would help you save lots of money (and also energy) that is quite valuable.

You should check the insulation level of your heater – if its rating is under 24, then you need to worry. If the sides of your water heater are warm, then you know that the insulation is not up to standard, that it is eating into your electricity bills. This means that it needs a hot water heater blanket – which will stop the heat escaping from it. Don’t make the mistake of thinking the sides of the heater are warm because there is hot water inside, it simply means the insulation levels aren’t proper, so you will need to install a hot water heater blanket to fix the problem. It should be an easy decision to make.
